Amy Vogel-Eyny, PhD, CCC-SLP
Lab Director
Amy Vogel-Eyny, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor in the department of Speech-Language Pathology and audiology at Hunter, College, CUNY and is a speech-language pathologist. She specializes in evaluating and treating patients who have acquired speech-language and cognitive-communication disorders resulting from conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological diseases. In her role as a clinician-researcher, she is dedicated to developing rehabilitative approaches that target linguistic and cognitive difficulties in adult neurogenics and healthy aging.
Aisha Haroun, BA
Senior Research Assistant
Lab Manager
Aisha Haroun graduated in 2023 with a B.A. in Human Biology and a minor in Political Science from Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, CUNY. She is a senior research assistant in the Neurorehabilitation in Aging and Aphasia Lab at Hunter College. Aisha is applying to medical school in 2025 and hopes to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecological Surgery.
A fun fact about Aisha is that she attended middle and high school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia!
Samsun Nahar, BA
Senior Research Assistant
Samsun Nahar recently graduated from Hunter College with a major in Human Biology and a concentration in Body, Mind, and Health. Currently, she is a senior research assistant in the Neurorehabilitation in Aging and Aphasia Lab at Hunter College. Samsun enjoys working with the older adult population and is excited to start her master's program in Speech Language Pathology this fall.
She also has a small business where she creates custom pieces for personal use as well as events such as weddings.
Sanjida Rahman, BA
Research Assistant
Sanjida Rahman is an undergraduate Human Biology major with a minor in Political Science, graduating May 2024 from Hunter College, CUNY. She will be starting her MPH In Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy in the fall. Currently she is a research assistant in the Neurorehabilitation in Aging and Aphasia Lab at Hunter College. She aspires to work towards addressing healthcare disparities and research on vulnerable populations.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and has been to over 16 countries so far. She has a passion for trying different cuisines and experiencing new cultures.
